The Himalayan cat is a cross between the Persian, from whom it has developed its physical characteristics, and the Siamese, from whom it has inherited the characteristic pattern. The combination of these two predecessors offers us a unique and elegant cat.
The origin appears in Sweden, in the 30s, although the official standard of the breed that we know today was not set until the 60s. Its name is due to the great resemblance to the Himalayan rabbit.
